AUTHENTIC JAMBALAYA

Authentic Jambalaya image

A good recipe I got from a Justin Wilson cookbook. I didn't change much just tweaked a few things and halved the recipe, so it's pretty true to his recipe. This is nice and mild, not a lot of spice so my wife likes it. I have to add at least a tsp of Tabasco to each bowl though. I hope you enjoy it.

Tips:

  • Mise en place: Before you start cooking, make sure you have all your ingredients prepped and measured. This will help you stay organized and avoid scrambling.
  • Use high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better the jambalaya will be. Use fresh vegetables, flavorful meats, and a good quality stock.
  • Cook the rice separately: This will help prevent the rice from becoming mushy. Cook the rice according to the package directions, then set it aside.
  • Don't overcrowd the pot: If you're using a large pot, don't overcrowd it with ingredients. This will prevent the jambalaya from cooking evenly.
  • Season to taste: Jambalaya should be flavorful, but not too spicy. Season it to your taste, adding more spices as needed.

Conclusion:

Justin Wilson's Jambalaya is a delicious and flavorful dish that is perfect for a party or a weeknight meal. With its combination of spicy sausage, tender chicken, and succulent shrimp, this jambalaya is sure to please everyone at the table.
