1/4 tsp white pepper
1 1/3 c. rice
1 tsp butter
1/4 c. chopped celery
1/4 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. chopped red bell pepper
1/2 tsp minced garlic

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: Choose fresh, flavorful ingredients for the best results. Look for long-grain rice, such as basmati or jasmine rice, for a light and fluffy pilaf.
  • Toast the rice: Toasting the rice before cooking enhances its flavor and helps to prevent it from sticking together. Heat the oil in a pot over medium heat and add the rice. Cook, stirring constantly, until the rice is golden brown.
  • Use a flavorful broth: The broth you use will add a lot of flavor to the pilaf. Choose a broth that you enjoy the taste of, such as chicken broth, vegetable broth, or seafood broth.
  • Add some aromatics: Aromatics, such as onions, garlic, and ginger, add depth of flavor to the pilaf. Sauté them in the oil before adding the rice.
  • Cook the pilaf over low heat: Cooking the pilaf over low heat helps to prevent it from burning and sticking to the pot. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked through.
  • Fluff the pilaf before serving: Once the pilaf is cooked, fluff it with a fork to separate the grains. This will help to create a light and fluffy texture.
