Tips:

  • Use a thick, sturdy bread for your French toast, such as brioche, challah, or Texas toast. This will help it hold up to the custard and prevent it from becoming soggy.
  • Make sure your custard is well-whisked and free of lumps. This will help it cook evenly and prevent it from curdling.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan when cooking your French toast. This will help it cook evenly and prevent it from steaming.
  • Cook your French toast over medium heat. This will help it cook through without burning.
  • Serve your French toast immediately with your favorite toppings. This could include butter, syrup, fruit, whipped cream, or ice cream.
