BLACK TEA RECIPE

Black Tea Recipe image

The history of Black Tea goes back to the 1640s when Dutch Traders introduced tea to society patrons in The Hague and it became a fashionable range. Eventually, England came into the picture, and tea became an integral part of their community.

Time 15m

Yield 1

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 Cup of Simmering Water and some more, if you wish to pre-heat the equipment used to brew tea.
1 TBsp 2 to 3 Grams of Loose Leaf Black Tea.
Optional Milk Lemon, Sugar, Honey, etc.

Steps:

  • Place the water in a tea kettle and heat it between 200° and 212°F.
  • Measuring the tea leaves, undoubtedly an important step. Up to two grams of black loose tea leaves can be added to make one perfect cup of tea.
  • Pre-heating the teapot or cup in which the tea will be served (optional). It is always good to do so before you pour the boiling water into it because the temperature of the water may drop down immediately if the pot or cup is not warm.

COLD BREWED JASMINE ICED TEA

Cold Brewed Jasmine Iced Tea image

Rather than using hot water then throwing a bunch of ice over it, I prefer to make iced tea using the easy and effective method of cold brewing.

Provided by Lu the teaman

Categories     Beverages

Time 5m

Yield 10-12 cups, 10-12 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 ounce loose leaf jasmine green tea (I get mine from www.teadojo.com)
3 liters filtered room temperature water
1 -2 tablespoon raw sugar or 1 -2 tablespoon honey
1 lemon

Steps:

  • In a large pitcher combine the tea and water. Mix the sugar or honey with about a cup of hot water so that it dissolves and will mix with the room temperature water. Add the sugar/ hot water mixture to the pitcher. Put the pitcher in the refrigerator (preferably before you go to sleep) and let the tea leaves soak until morning (9-12 hours). Add lemon to taste and then pour the tea through a strainer so as to catch the tea leaves before serving.

Tips:

  • Jasmine pearls: Use loose jasmine pearls instead of tea bags for a more intense flavor.
  • Water temperature: Steep the green tea in hot water, but not boiling, around 175-185°F (80-85°C), for the optimal flavor extraction.
  • Steeping time: Do not over-steep the green tea, as it can impart a bitter taste. Follow the recommended steeping time of 2-3 minutes.
  • Sweetener: Adjust the amount of sweetener to your preference. Honey, simple syrup, or stevia are all suitable options.
  • Ice: Use filtered or purified water for making ice to ensure the best taste.
  • Garnishes: Enhance the visual appeal and flavor of your iced green tea with jasmine by adding garnishes such as lemon slices, mint leaves, or jasmine flowers.

Conclusion:

Indulge in the refreshing and aromatic Iced Green Tea with Jasmine, a delightful beverage that combines the delicate flavors of green tea and jasmine blossoms. With its simple preparation, adjustable sweetness, and customizable garnishes, this iced tea is a versatile treat perfect for any occasion. Whether you're seeking a revitalizing drink on a hot summer day or a soothing companion for relaxation, this iced tea with jasmine promises a sensory journey that will transport you to a tranquil oasis.
