Time 20m

Yield 3 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

3 large eggs
2 oscar mayer all beef hot dogs, chopped into 1/4 inch pieces
1 cup salsa
1 small onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
monterey jack pepper cheese

Steps:

  • Start by sweating the onion and garlic in a small skillet.
  • When they are translucent add in the salsa and hotdogs.
  • Crack the eggs over the top, letting them cook through.
  • place slices of cheese on top and cover until cheese melts.
  • Flip it all onto a plate and enjoy!

Tips:

  • Use fresh eggs: Fresh eggs will have a firmer yolk and white, making them easier to peel and less likely to break.
  • Hard-boil the eggs properly: To ensure the eggs are cooked through, place them in a single layer in a saucepan and cover them with cold water. Bring the water to a boil, then cover the saucepan and remove it from the heat. Let the eggs stand in the hot water for 10-12 minutes, depending on how hard you want them to be. Immediately transfer the eggs to an ice bath to stop the cooking process.
  • Peel the eggs carefully: To prevent the eggs from cracking, peel them under cold running water. Start by gently tapping the egg on a hard surface to crack the shell. Then, roll the egg between your hands to loosen the shell further. Finally, use your fingers to peel away the shell, starting from the wide end of the egg.
  • Make the filling ahead of time: The filling for deviled eggs can be made up to 2 days ahead of time. Simply store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • Garnish the eggs creatively: There are many ways to garnish deviled eggs. Some popular options include paprika, chopped chives, chopped bacon, or a sprinkle of fresh herbs.

Conclusion:

Deviled eggs are a classic appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make, delicious, and can be customized to your liking. With a little creativity, you can create deviled eggs that are both visually appealing and delicious. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy appetizer, give deviled eggs a try!
