  • Room Temperature Ingredients: Many recipes require ingredients to be at room temperature. This helps them combine smoothly and evenly.
  • Creaming Butter and Sugar: When creaming butter and sugar together, beat them until light and fluffy. This incorporates air and makes the baked goods more tender.
  • Mixing Dry and Wet Ingredients: When adding dry ingredients to wet ingredients, do it gradually and mix until just combined. Overmixing can result in tough baked goods.
  • Proper Oven Temperature: Make sure your oven is preheated to the correct temperature before baking. This ensures even cooking and prevents under or overbaking.
  • Cooling Baked Goods: Allow baked goods to cool completely before frosting or decorating. This helps them set properly and prevents the frosting from melting.
