Steps:
- 1. Beat chilled cream with electric mixer until soft peaks form.
- 2. Blend in sugar and vanilla and beat until stiff peaks form.
- 3. Thats it! Very easy and so much better than canned whipped cream!
Tips:
- Use heavy cream: It contains a higher fat content, which is necessary for whipped cream to form and hold its shape.
- Chill everything: Before you start, make sure the cream, the bowl, and the beaters are all chilled. This will help the cream whip up faster and more easily.
- Whip gradually: Start on low speed and gradually increase it as the cream thickens. This will help prevent the cream from overwhipping.
- Don't overwhip: Overwhipped cream will become grainy and separated. Stop whipping when the cream holds stiff peaks.
- Flavor it: Once the cream is whipped, you can flavor it with your favorite ingredients, such as sugar, vanilla extract, or cocoa powder.
- Use it immediately: Whipped cream is best used immediately after it is made. It will start to lose its shape and texture after a few hours.
- Store leftovers properly: If you have any leftover whipped cream, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Conclusion:
Homemade whipped cream is a delicious and versatile topping that can be used on a variety of desserts, such as pies, cakes, and ice cream. It is also a great addition to coffee and hot chocolate. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of effort, you can make your own whipped cream at home in just a few minutes. So next time you need a special topping for your favorite dessert, give this recipe a try.
