POSSUM'S NO-COOK BBQ SAUCE

Possum's No-Cook BBQ Sauce image

Sweet and tangy, great on ribs, steaks, chicken, you name it! The only time it takes to make this is the time to find the ingredients and mix them into a bowl. This recipe was in its original form one of Emeril's barbecue sauces as seen on his TV show. It's since been tweaked, perhaps not to perfection, but to my & my family's taste.

Time 5m

Yield 2 cups

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 cup ketchup
1 cup apple cider vinegar
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons steak sauce
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps:

  • Add all ingredients into a large bowl.
  • Whisk well to be sure the brown sugar dissolves.
  • Transfer BBQ sauce to a container better suited for serving.
  • Enjoy!

Tips:

  • Use ripe tomatoes for the best flavor. If your tomatoes are not ripe, you can roast them in the oven to concentrate their flavor.
  • Feel free to adjust the ingredients to suit your taste. For example, if you like a sweeter sauce, add more honey or brown sugar. If you like a spicier sauce, add more cayenne pepper or chili powder.
  • This sauce is also great as a marinade for chicken, pork, or beef. Just add your meat to a bowl with the sauce and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Store the sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

This homemade no-cook BBQ sauce is a delicious and versatile condiment that can be used on anything from grilled meats to roasted vegetables. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy BBQ sauce, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
