Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 pinch salt
1 ¼ cups milk
1 egg
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon butter, or more as needed
2 teaspoons butter
1 tablespoon milk
2 teaspoons hazelnut liqueur
2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar, or more to taste
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
2 ripe bananas, sliced

Steps:

  • Sift flour and salt into a large bowl. Combine 1 1/4 cups milk, egg, and oil in a second bowl and beat until well combined. Add milk mixture to flour mixture and stir to combine. Set batter aside for 30 minutes.
  • Melt 1 teaspoon butter in an 8-inch skillet over medium heat. Pour a small ladleful of batter into the skillet. Immediately rotate the skillet until batter coats the cooking surface in a thin layer. Cook until the top of the crepe is no longer wet and the bottom has turned light brown, 1 to 2 minutes. Run a spatula around the edge of the skillet to loosen crepe; flip crepe and cook until the other side has turned light brown, about 1 minute more. Slide crepe onto a warmed plate. Repeat with remaining batter.
  • Melt 2 teaspoons butter in a saucepan; stir in 1 tablespoon milk and hazelnut liqueur. Add confectioners' sugar and cocoa powder and keep warm over very low heat.
  • Distribute crepes amongst plates. Add 1/4 of the banana slices onto each crepe and pour 1/4 of the chocolate sauce on top. Roll up crepe and fold. Dust with confectioners' sugar.

HOMEMADE WAFFLES WITH CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT SAUCE RECIPE

Homemade Waffles with Chocolate Hazelnut Sauce Recipe image

Yield 10

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons baking powder
2 Tablespoons sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup fat free chocolate syrup
1/2 cup chocolate hazelnut spread
Strawberries, for topping
Whipped cream, for topping

Steps:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, baking powder and sugar; set aside. Preheat waffle iron. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Stir in milk, butter and vanilla. Pour milk mixture into flour mixture and mix until combined. Pour batter into preheated waffle iron and cook until golden brown and crispy. In a small sauce pan, combine chocolate sauce and hazelnut spread over low heat. Whisk until warmed through. Serve over waffles. Top with strawberries and whipped cream.

Tips:

  • Use good quality chocolate: The type of chocolate you use will greatly affect the taste of your sauce. Look for a chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 60%.
  • Don't overheat the chocolate: Chocolate can easily burn, so be careful not to overheat it. Stir it constantly and remove it from the heat as soon as it is melted.
  • Add flavorings: You can add flavorings to your chocolate sauce to create different variations. Some popular options include vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and chili pepper.
  • Use a double boiler: If you don't have a double boiler, you can still make chocolate sauce by placing a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. This will help to prevent the chocolate from burning.
  • Let the sauce cool slightly before serving: This will help to thicken the sauce and make it easier to drizzle.

Conclusion:

Homemade chocolate sauce is a delicious and versatile treat that can be used in a variety of desserts. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. So next time you're craving something sweet, give this recipe a try!
