Yield 4 Logs

Steps:
- Grate and set aside the colby cheese in a large mixing bowl. Add the cream cheese, the Cumin and with gloved hands mix thoroughly. The cheeses soften during mixing but they will harden back up in the refrigerator. Divide the bowls contents into 4 even portions. Roll each portion into a log about the size of a quarter in diameter, and roll the log into the spicy chile powder. Wrap each log in wax paper or plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator for 24 hours if possible before slicing and serving with or without your favorite crackers.
Tips:
- Choose the right cheese: The type of cheese you use will determine the flavor and texture of your cheese log. Soft cheeses, such as cream cheese or goat cheese, are easy to spread and make a smooth, creamy log. Hard cheeses, such as cheddar or Parmesan, can be grated or crumbled and added to the log for a more complex flavor and texture.
- Add mix-ins: To add flavor and variety to your cheese log, consider adding mix-ins such as herbs, spices, nuts, dried fruit, or chopped vegetables. Be creative and experiment with different combinations to find your favorite.
- Shape the log: Once you have mixed all of the ingredients, shape the mixture into a log. You can use your hands, a spoon, or a mold to create the desired shape.
- Chill the log: Before serving, chill the cheese log for at least 30 minutes. This will help the flavors to meld and the log to set.
- Garnish the log: Before serving, garnish the cheese log with fresh herbs, chopped nuts, or a drizzle of olive oil. This will add a pop of color and flavor.
Conclusion:
Cheese logs are a delicious and versatile appetizer that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are easy to make and can be customized to suit your own taste. With a little creativity, you can create a cheese log that is sure to be a hit at your next party or gathering.
