HARVEST MEATLOAF

Too many apples...so time to experiment! I had some delicious leftover Steel cut oatmeal from breakfast. This is a much healthier filler for meatloaf than the usual white bread. I also had some apples I just picked up from the orchard yesterday so I added a small apple. Fed this to my husband and son and, well, it is gone...

Tips for Making the Best Harvest Meatloaf

  • Use a variety of meats. This will give your meatloaf a more complex flavor. Ground beef, pork, and sausage are all good choices.
  • Don't overmix the meatloaf. Overmixing can make the meatloaf tough.
  • Add some moisture to the meatloaf. This will help keep it moist and juicy. You can add milk, eggs, or even applesauce.
  • Season the meatloaf generously. This will help give it flavor. Use a variety of herbs and spices, such as garlic, onion, paprika, and cumin.
  • Cook the meatloaf at a moderate temperature. This will help prevent it from drying out.
  • Let the meatloaf rest before slicing it. This will help the juices redistribute throughout the meatloaf, making it more flavorful.

Conclusion

Harvest meatloaf is a delicious and hearty dish that is perfect for a fall meal. It is easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With a little planning, you can make a harvest meatloaf that will be the star of your next gathering.
