Tips:
- Use a variety of bread cubes. This will give your stuffing a more complex flavor and texture. You can use white bread, wheat bread, cornbread, or even sourdough bread. Use fresh bread for a crispier stuffing and slightly stale bread for a softer, more moist stuffing.
- Sauté the aromatics. Before adding the aromatics to the stuffing, cook them in a little butter or oil until they are softened and fragrant. This will release their flavors and make them more evenly distributed throughout the stuffing.
- Use a flavorful broth. The broth you use to moisten the stuffing will add a lot of flavor. If you're using chicken broth, use a low-sodium broth so that the stuffing doesn't end up too salty. You can also use vegetable broth or turkey broth.
- Don't overcook the stuffing. The stuffing should be cooked until it is just heated through. Overcooking will make the stuffing dry and crumbly.
Conclusion:
Ham stuffing casserole is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a holiday meal. With its savory flavors and hearty texture, it is sure to be a hit with your family and friends. So next time you are looking for a side dish that is both flavorful and filling, give ham stuffing casserole a try.
