COBB SALAD WITH HAM AND HOMEMADE DRESSING

Cobb Salad with Ham and Homemade Dressing image

This is a great way to utilize leftover ham to change it up into a completely different meal. It's also a great way to clean out the fridge with things that need using up. Ham and blue cheese both have a salty flavor so I chose to leave bacon out, but feel free to add it if you wish.

This is very rich--you probably won't want very much in a serving but quite tasty. I used swiss chard in place of the lettuce and Ro-tel in place of the tomatoes. Serving size is estimated. Recipe courtesy of www.lemontreedwelling.com.

PARTY HAM DIP

Party Ham Dip image

Great party dip! The recipe listed below is doubled. I usually make it doubled since we like it so much. Can be served with pork rinds for low carb. I serve it (when not on low carb) with Wheat Thins.

Provided by Raindrop

Categories     Spreads

Time 2h5m

Yield 8-10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 (8 ounce) packages Philadelphia Cream Cheese, room temperature
2 (5 ounce) cans canned flake ham (Hormel Chunky not deviled, like canned tuna, and chicken)
1/2 cup Hellmann's mayonnaise
1/4-1/2 cup sour cream (to thin)
4 -5 green onions, chopped, tops and all (more or less to your taste)
5 -6 dashes louisiana hot sauce, to taste
1 dash Accent seasoning (optional)

Steps:

  • Mix the cream cheese, ham and mayonnaise with mixer.
  • Add the chopped Onions, Louisiana Hot Sauce and Sour Cream by hand to thin to the right consistency.
  • Chill until set, several hours.
  • When set this can be rolled into a ball, or a half moon, and rolled/topped with chopped nuts if you want to fancy it up a bit.
  • But we don't usually wait for that.
  • That's it! I hope you enjoy it!

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients. Fresh, flavorful ingredients will make a big difference in the taste of your dip.
  • Don't overmix the dip. Overmixing can make the dip runny and thin.
  • Chill the dip before serving. This will help the flavors to meld and the dip to thicken up.
  • Serve the dip with a variety of dippers. This will give your guests a choice of options and help to prevent the dip from getting boring.
  • Garnish the dip before serving. This will add a touch of elegance and make the dip more appealing.

Conclusion:

Ham cobb dip combines two classic party foods, ham salad and cobb salad, into one delicious and versatile dip. It's perfect for potlucks, picnics, or any other gathering. With its creamy texture, smoky ham flavor, and fresh vegetables, this dip is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you're looking for a crowd-pleasing appetizer, give ham cobb dip a try.
