This is my mom's take on a sandwich that is served at Steak Escape. She used to make these as a quck mid-week dinner. Can't eat them anymore cuz I'm a veggie, but there's no reason YOU shouldn't enjoy this!

1 lb chip bone ham
4 slices provolone cheese or 4 slices swiss cheese
4 hamburger buns or 4 hoagie rolls
1 (15 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
mayonnaise
lettuce
tomatoes

Steps:

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the ham to the skillet and chop up into fine pieces while cooking.
  • Add the pineapple to the skillet and heat through.
  • Divide the ham and pineapple up over the four hamburger buns or hoagie rolls.

Whole cloves
1 can (20 ounces) sliced pineapple
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
12 maraschino cherries

Steps:

  • Place ham in roasting pan. Score the surface with shallow diagonal cuts, making diamond shapes; insert cloves into diamonds. Cover and bake at 325° for 1-1/2 hours. 4 slices sourdough bread
2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
¼ cup drained crushed pineapple
2 slices provolone or Swiss cheese
2 eggs
½ cup milk
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 teaspoon butter
1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Spread cream cheese on two slices of bread. Layer 2 slices of ham, 2 tablespoons of pineapple, and one slice of cheese over the cream cheese. Then top each sandwich with one more slice of bread. Cut off crusts.
