Tips:

  • To ensure even cooking, ensure the haddock fillets are of uniform thickness. If necessary, use a sharp knife to trim them.
  • If you don't have a steamer basket, you can create a makeshift one by placing a metal colander or heat-proof bowl inside a large pot. Add water to the pot, ensuring it doesn't touch the bottom of the colander or bowl.
  • Steaming is a gentle cooking method that preserves the delicate flavor and nutrients of the haddock. Avoid overcooking, as this can result in dry, tough fish.
  • For a crispy crust, ensure the haddock fillets are well-coated in the seasoned breadcrumb mixture before pan-frying.
  • If you prefer a milder flavor, use a combination of bread crumbs and grated Parmesan cheese instead of seasoned bread crumbs.
  • Serve the haddock supreme immediately with your favorite sides, such as steamed vegetables, rice, or mashed potatoes.
