Categories     Brunch

Time 20m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup catsup
1/4 cup fresh parsley, Chopped
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/3 tablespoon ground pepper
2 garlic cloves, minced
6 shark steaks

Steps:

  • Combine soy sauce, orange juice, catsup, chopped parsley, lemon juice, pepper, and minced garlic in a ziploc bag. Squish to mix well. Add fish, seal and marinate in refrigerator for 2 hours.
  • Remove fish from marinade, reserving marinade. Pat dry with a paper towel and apply a good layer of vegetable or olive oil to prevent sticking on the grill.
  • Preheat grill so grill rack is screaming hot. Place fish over hot coals or gas accordingly 6 minutes on each side or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork, basting frequently with marinade.
  • Allow to rest a few minutes before serving.

Tips:

  • Choose the right shark: Select a firm, fresh shark steak or fillet with no signs of spoilage. Swordfish, mako, or thresher shark are great options.
  • Marinate the shark: Marinating the shark in a flavorful mixture of beer, olive oil, garlic, herbs, and spices tenderizes and infuses it with delicious flavors. Experiment with different marinades to find your favorite.
  • Grill the shark over medium heat: This will help prevent the shark from overcooking and becoming dry. Cook the shark for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare or 155°F (68°C) for medium.
  • Serve the shark with your favorite sides: Grilled shark pairs well with a variety of sides, such as grilled vegetables, roasted potatoes, or a fresh salad. You can also serve it with a tartar sauce or lemon wedges.

Conclusion:

Grilled shark in beer is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a summer cookout.
