Yield 1 12

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 large red pepper, grilled, peeled and chopped
4 plum tomatos, grilled and charred on all sides, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 Tbsp red-wine vinegar
1 Tbsp honey
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
14/ cup olive oil
salt & fresh ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Combine the red pepper, omatoes, garlic, vinegar, honey and cilantro in a food processor; process until smooth. With the motor running, slowly add oil and season with salt & pepper.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe, flavorful tomatoes. This will ensure that your sauce is packed with flavor. You can use a variety of tomatoes, such as Roma, San Marzano, or heirloom tomatoes.
  • Roast the tomatoes before adding them to the sauce. Roasting the tomatoes will concentrate their flavor and make them sweeter.
  • Use a variety of herbs and spices. This will give your sauce a complex flavor. Some good options include basil, oregano, thyme, garlic, and red pepper flakes.
  • Don't overcook the sauce. Overcooked sauce will lose its flavor and become watery.
  • Serve the sauce immediately or store it in the refrigerator for later use. This sauce will keep for up to 5 days in the refrigerator.

Conclusion:

This grilled red pepper tomato sauce is a delicious and versatile sauce that can be used on a variety of dishes. It's perfect for pasta, pizza, chicken, fish, or vegetables. It's also a great way to use up leftover tomatoes. So next time you're looking for a flavorful and easy-to-make sauce, give this grilled red pepper tomato sauce a try. You won't be disappointed!
