Tips

  • Use fresh green beans: Fresh green beans are more tender and flavorful than frozen or canned beans. If you can't find fresh green beans, frozen beans are a good alternative.
  • Trim the green beans: Trim the ends of the green beans before cooking. This will help them cook evenly.
  • Cook the green beans until they are tender-crisp: Green beans should be cooked until they are tender-crisp, but not mushy. This will take about 5-7 minutes in boiling water.
  • Use good quality bacon: The quality of the bacon will make a big difference in the flavor of the dish. Use a thick-cut, smoked bacon.
  • Cook the bacon until it is crispy: Cook the bacon until it is crispy, but not burnt. This will take about 5-7 minutes per side.
  • Use a large skillet: Use a large skillet so that the green beans and bacon have plenty of room to cook. This will help them cook evenly.
  • Serve the green beans immediately: Green beans are best served immediately after they are cooked. This will help them retain their flavor and texture.
