JUMBO RAISIN COOKIES
I got this recipe from an old Southern Living cookbook. I make these regularly, since we all love raisin cookies and this is a good recipe. Cook time is per pan. In answer to a reviewer, yes...You do add the rasins along with the water they were cooked in. As it cools, it thickens.

Tips:
- Make sure the butter is at room temperature before creaming it with the sugar. This will help the cookies spread properly in the oven.
- Use a large mixing bowl to cream the butter and sugar together. This will give you plenty of room to work and prevent the mixture from splattering.
- Gradually add the eggs to the butter and sugar mixture, beating well after each addition. This will help prevent the cookies from curdling.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. This will help to evenly distribute the dry ingredients throughout the dough.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in three additions, mixing well after each addition. This will help to prevent the cookies from becoming tough.
- Stir in the raisins until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Drop the dough by rounded tablespoons onto a greased baking sheet. This will help the cookies spread evenly in the oven.
- Bake the cookies in a preheated oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown around the edges.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
