GLAZED PINEAPPLE KIELBASA BITES RECIPE

Glazed Pineapple Kielbasa Bites Recipe image

Provided by dmscott52

Number Of Ingredients 8

FOR THE GLAZE:
1 ( 14 oz.) regular Kielbasa, sliced
1 (20 oz.) can pineapple chunks, reserve juice
3 T. Teriyaki sauce
1 T. sweet chili sauce
1 T. honey
1 T. pineapple juice (from can)
fro garnish: plain toothpicks

Steps:

  • 1. Soak your toothpicks in water for 20 minutes before baking. Be sure to use plain ( not colored) toothpicks. I learned from experience that the colored toothpicks will bleed and discolor the food. 2.Preheat oven to 425 F. degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 3. Place a piece of pineapple in tip of a slice of kielbasa and place on the parchment lined pan. (I wait to put the toothpicks in until after I glaze. The reason being that if you get glaze on the tops of the toothpicks, it will burn in the oven.) 4. In a small bowl combine glaze ingredients.*** Glaze the kielbasa and pineapple bites. Stick each portion with a plain toothpick. 5. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until hot. Let cool slightly and serve warm. *** I made extra batch of sauce for dipping.

Provided by á-48374

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 pound Kielbasa, sliced
1 cup apricot preserves
1/2 cup maple syrup
2 tbsp bourbon or apple juice

Steps:

  • Combine everything in the crock pot. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality kielbasa: Opt for a smoked or fresh kielbasa made with premium-quality pork or beef.
  • Slice the kielbasa properly: Cut the kielbasa into uniform pieces, ensuring they are not too thick or too thin.
  • Use a large skillet: A spacious skillet will prevent overcrowding and allow the kielbasa to brown evenly.
  • Cook the kielbasa over medium heat: This will help render the fat slowly and prevent the kielbasa from burning.
  • Baste the kielbasa with the glaze frequently: This will keep the kielbasa moist and flavorful.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure doneness: Insert the thermometer into the thickest part of the kielbasa; it should read 160°F (71°C) for fully cooked sausage.
  • Let the kielbasa rest before serving: This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful bite.

Conclusion:

Glazed kielbasa is a versatile and delicious dish that can be enjoyed as an appetizer, main course, or side dish. With its sweet and savory glaze, it's a crowd-pleaser that is perfect for any occasion. Whether you choose a simple glaze made with brown sugar and mustard or a more complex one infused with herbs and spices, the possibilities are endless.
