The only thing better was when she took it out of the oven and served it with a generous topping of fresh whipped cream! -Ellouise Halstead, Union Grove, Wisconsin

Tips:

  • Use fresh ginger. Fresh ginger has a more intense flavor than ground ginger, and it will give your cake a more authentic gingerbread taste.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing the batter will make the cake tough. Mix the batter just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the cake at a moderate temperature. A moderate temperature will help the cake to rise evenly and prevent it from overcooking.
  • Make the brown sugar sauce while the cake is baking. This will give the sauce time to thicken and develop flavor.
  • Serve the cake warm with the brown sugar sauce. The warm cake and the rich, flavorful sauce are a perfect combination.

Conclusion:

This gingerbread cake with brown sugar sauce is a delicious and festive treat that is perfect for the holidays. The cake is moist and flavorful, and the sauce is rich and decadent. This cake is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
