Yield Makes about 3 quarts

Number Of Ingredients 5

3 quarts water
3/4 cup chopped pealed ginger
2 to 3 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks
24 pine nuts
Mild honey to taste

Steps:

  • Simmer water, ginger, and cinnamon sticks in a pot, covered, 1 hour. Strain through a sieve into cups and garnish each serving with 3 pine nuts. Serve with honey.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh ginger and cinnamon: Fresh ginger and cinnamon sticks offer the best flavor and aroma. If using ground spices, ensure they're fresh and not stale.
  • Adjust the sweetness: Taste the tea before adding honey or sugar. Adjust the sweetness to your preference or omit it altogether for a naturally sweet tea.
  • Experiment with other spices: Feel free to add other spices like cardamom, cloves, or star anise to enhance the flavor profile.
  • Steep for the right amount of time: Over-steeping can result in a bitter taste. Steep the tea for 5-10 minutes, depending on your desired strength.
  • Serve hot or cold: Ginger cinnamon tea can be enjoyed hot or cold. For a refreshing iced tea, let it cool completely and serve over ice.

Conclusion:

Ginger cinnamon tea is a delicious and versatile beverage that offers numerous health benefits. It's easy to make at home with simple ingredients and can be enjoyed throughout the day. Whether you're looking to boost your immune system, relieve indigestion, or simply relax and unwind, this tea is a perfect choice. Experiment with different spices and sweeteners to find your ideal combination and enjoy this flavorful and comforting drink.
