This has always been one of my favorite pound cakes. I got this recipe from a friends Mom who would make 2 of these at a time. We would eat warm slices of this pound cake with a glass of cold milk. Enjoy.

1 c butter
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp butter flavoring

Tips:

  • Use room temperature ingredients to ensure the cake batter mixes smoothly and evenly.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. This will help incorporate air into the batter, resulting in a moist and tender cake.
  • Gradually add the eggs to the batter, one at a time, beating well after each addition. This will help prevent the batter from curdling.
  • Sift the flour and cocoa powder together before adding them to the batter. This will help prevent lumps from forming.
  • Do not overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in a tough, dense cake.
  • Bake the cake in a preheated oven. This will help ensure that the cake bakes evenly.
  • Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting it. This will help prevent the frosting from melting.
