Red bell peppers add a mild flavor to the cheesy filling while onion gives a little bite. We added the optional bacon and love the saltiness it adds to the filling. Tips:

  • Choose the right mushrooms. Large, firm mushrooms with intact stems are best for stuffing. Avoid mushrooms that are bruised or have blemishes.
  • Clean the mushrooms thoroughly. Use a damp paper towel to wipe away any dirt or debris from the mushrooms. Do not rinse the mushrooms under water, as this can make them soggy.
  • Remove the stems. Use a sharp knife to twist and pull the stems out of the mushrooms. Be careful not to tear the mushrooms.
  • Make sure the stuffing is well-seasoned. Taste the stuffing before you stuff the mushrooms. It should be flavorful and well-seasoned.
  • Stuff the mushrooms evenly. Use a small spoon to stuff the mushrooms evenly. Do not overstuff the mushrooms, or they will burst open during cooking.
  • Bake the mushrooms until they are tender. The mushrooms are done baking when they are tender and the stuffing is hot and bubbly.

Conclusion:

Garlic ricotta stuffed mushrooms are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or side dish. They are perfect for any occasion, from a casual get-together to a formal dinner party. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a dish that will impress your guests.
