Tips:

  • For the perfect dough, ensure the butter is very cold before incorporating it into the flour mixture. This will prevent the dough from becoming greasy and difficult to work with.
  • To achieve a flaky texture, avoid overworking the dough. Mix the ingredients until just combined, then quickly form the dough into a ball and chill it for at least 30 minutes before rolling.
  • If the dough becomes too sticky to handle, chill it for a few more minutes or dust it lightly with flour.
  • To prevent the pinwheels from unrolling during baking, brush the edges of the dough with water before sealing them.
  • For a golden-brown crust, brush the tops of the pinwheels with melted butter or milk before baking.
