Tips:

  • Use fresh garlic chives: Fresh garlic chives have a more vibrant flavor than dried chives. If you don't have fresh garlic chives on hand, you can substitute 1 tablespoon of dried chives.
  • Don't overcook the potatoes: Overcooked potatoes will become mushy and lose their flavor. Cook the potatoes until they are tender but still hold their shape.
  • Mash the potatoes until they are smooth: Use a potato masher or ricer to mash the potatoes until they are smooth and creamy. If you leave lumps in the potatoes, they will not be as enjoyable to eat.
  • Add the garlic chives and butter: Once the potatoes are mashed, stir in the garlic chives and butter. Be sure to mix the chives and butter in evenly.
  • Season to taste: Add salt and pepper to taste. You may also want to add a splash of milk or cream to make the potatoes more creamy.

Conclusion:

Garlic chive mashed potatoes are a delicious and easy-to-make side dish that is perfect for any occasion. They are creamy, flavorful, and packed with garlic and chives. These potatoes are sure to be a hit at your next party or potluck.
