**For those who prefer a more unique flavor,** our green tea fried ice cream recipe is a great choice. This recipe uses matcha powder to give the ice cream a vibrant green color and a subtle, earthy flavor. The ice cream is then coated in a breading made with panko breadcrumbs and green tea powder.

NO-FRY FRIED ICE CREAM
This ice cream has a crispy cinnamon coating just like the fried ice cream served at Mexican restaurants, but minus the oily mess. Make ahead of time and freeze until serving. -Tim White, Windsor, ON

Steps:
- Crush cornflakes in a bag using a rolling pin until crumbs form.
- Melt butter and add cornflakes, coconut, sugar, corn syrup, and cinnamon.
- Roll ice cream into 3 inch balls. To roll the ice cream into balls, only thaw the ice cream slightly so you can easily roll it with your hands. - Place the covered ball onto a cookie sheet lined with waxed paper.
- Freeze until firm, about 4 hours.
- When ready to serve, top with whipped cream, hot fudge and caramel.
NOT FRIED, FRIED ICE CREAM
Can't remember where I found this recipe, but it's great for Mexican night, or Cinco De Mayo!! (New Note: If you use the new Special K cereal with cinnamon and pecans, this is REAL delicious! Add the sugar and not as much cinnamon, no butter, and you don't have to bake it! Very crunchy and SO DELICIOUS!!! I used about 1 1/4 C Special K.)

- (Cooking times will vary according to taste and oven temps.) Let cool.
- Roll ice cream balls in the cooled mixture and refreeze for 2 hours more.

- *See new note above recipe*.
Tips:
- Use high-quality ice cream. This will make a big difference in the final product.
- Make sure the ice cream is frozen solid before you start. This will help it hold its shape when it's fried.
- Use a large skillet or griddle. This will give the ice cream plenty of room to spread out and cook evenly.
- Heat the skillet or griddle over medium heat. If it's too hot, the ice cream will burn.
- Cook the ice cream for a few minutes per side, or until it's golden brown and crispy.
- Serve the fried ice cream immediately, topped with your favorite toppings.
Conclusion:
Fried ice cream is a delicious and unique dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It's easy to make at home, and you can customize it with your favorite toppings. So next time you're looking for something sweet and satisfying, give fried ice cream a try.
