Tips:

  • Choose the right cabbage: For this recipe, it's best to use a firm, green cabbage with tightly packed leaves. Avoid cabbages that are wilted or have brown spots.
  • Slice the cabbage thinly: This will help it cook evenly and quickly. You can use a sharp knife or a mandoline to slice the cabbage.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When cooking the cabbage and bacon, make sure not to overcrowd the pan. This will prevent the ingredients from cooking evenly and will make the cabbage soggy.
  • Cook the cabbage and bacon until they are browned: The cabbage should be slightly caramelized and the bacon should be crispy.
  • Add the onion towards the end of cooking: This will help to prevent the onion from burning.
  • Season to taste: Once the cabbage and bacon are cooked, season them with salt, pepper, and any other desired spices.
