5 cups chopped apples (peeled)
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup chopped pecans
1 box yellow cake mix (I used Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ yellow cake mix)
1 cup butter (melted (two sticks))

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray bottom of 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray. Set aside.
  • Stir together chopped apples, brown sugar and cinnamon. Spread over bottom of pan.

2 (21 ounce) cans apple pie filling
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1 tablespoon white sugar
¾ cup butter
1 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C.)
  • Pour the cans of apple pie filling into a 9 x 13 inch rectangular pan.
