2 sticks butter[ soften]
1/2 cup crisco
3 cups sugar
3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
5 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 &1/2 teaspoons lemon flavoring
1 teaspoon black walnut flavoring
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup milk
1 cup black walnuts [ chopped]

Steps:

  • Cream first 3 ingredients toghter well ,add one egg at a time ,blend in sour cream and flavorings . Sift flour and baking powder ,gradually add nuts to flour mixture . Gradually add this to the buttrt , sugar and egg mixture untel well blended . Turn into coated bunt pan with pam cake spray . Bake 350 deg. for 20 minutes , reduce heat to 325 deg. and bake One hour and fifteen minutes longer . If using smaler bunt pan bake 15 minutes less

1/2 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3 cups cake flour or 3 cups plain flour
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon vanilla flavoring
1 tablespoon black walnut flavoring
1 cup black walnut, chopped
1/4 cup butter
4 ounces cream cheese
1 tablespoon black walnut flavoring
1 lb powdered sugar
1/2 cup black walnut, chopped
milk, if needed

Steps:

  • Oven at 325º F.
  • Cake:.
  • Cream butter and shortening.
  • Add sugar and cream together.
  • Add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each.

1/4 cup butter, softened
1 large egg, separated, room temperature
1 large egg yolk, room temperature
4-1/2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
GLAZE:
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon orange juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
