CHERRY-ETTES
How adorable will these be on a cookie tray? I love the addition of cherries to this melt in your mouth shortbread cookie. Don't forget to double dip the glaze like Sarah suggests... it really takes these to another delicious level.

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- 2. Place all cookie dough ingredients into a bowl, and knead by hand to combine. You can use a mixer, but I've found with this recipe, it's easier to just get in there with your hands.
- 3. Shape the dough into roughly tablespoon sized balls or use a cookie scoop. Place the cookies onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 15-17 minutes until just light golden on the bottom. Let cool.
- 4. To make the glaze, mix all ingredients together.
- 5. Once the cookies are cool, dip the tops in the glaze and place on waxed paper lined sheets to set. Dip twice if you like. I usually do! Enjoy!
CHERRY CHEWBILEES
This is a good dish to carry to potlucks and parties. It's a hit at home, too - my husband rates it as one of his favorite desserts. -Debbi Smith, Crossett, Arkansas

Tips:
- Prepare cherries in advance: Pit and halve cherries, then coat them in sugar and lemon juice. Let them sit for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight, to help them release their juices.
- Use fresh, ripe cherries: Fresh cherries will have a sweeter flavor and be more tender than frozen or canned cherries.
- Don't overcook the cherries: Cherries should be cooked until they are softened but still hold their shape. Overcooking them will make them tough.
- Use a heavy-bottomed saucepan: A heavy-bottomed saucepan will help to prevent the cherries from scorching.
- Stir the cherries frequently: Stirring the cherries frequently will help to prevent them from sticking to the bottom of the saucepan.
- Add a little bit of cornstarch or flour: If you want a thicker sauce, you can add a little bit of cornstarch or flour to the cherries. Be sure to whisk it in until it is completely dissolved.
- Serve cherryettes warm or cold: Cherryettes can be served warm or cold. They are delicious on their own, or you can serve them with whipped cream, ice cream, or yogurt.
Conclusion:
Cherryettes are a delicious and festive treat that is perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With a little bit of planning, you can have a batch of cherryettes ready to enjoy in no time. So next time you are looking for a sweet treat, give cherryettes a try. You won't be disappointed!
