Time 25m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

6 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
2 tablespoons minced onions
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons snipped fresh parsley leaves
1 lb beef tenderloin, cut into 8 slices

Steps:

  • Melt 4 tablespoons of the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the mushrooms, onions, garlic, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and salt, and cook, stirring, until the mushrooms are tender.
  • Stir in the parsley; pour the sauce into a small metal bowl or saucepan, cover, and keep warm.
  • Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter in the skillet.
  • Cook the steaks over medium-high heat, turning them once, for 3 to 4 minutes on each side for medium.
  • Serve the steaks with the mushroom sauce.

Tips:

  • For the best results, use a high-quality steak, such as a ribeye or strip steak.
  • Make sure the steak is well-seasoned before cooking. This will help to develop flavor and prevent it from becoming bland.
  • Cook the steak over high heat to quickly sear the outside and create a flavorful crust. Once the outside is seared, reduce the heat and continue cooking until the steak is cooked to your desired doneness.
  • To make the sauce, use a combination of shallots, mushrooms, and brandy. The shallots and mushrooms will add flavor and texture, while the brandy will add a touch of sweetness and complexity.
  • Serve the steak immediately with the sauce spooned over top. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives.

Conclusion:

Steak Diane is a classic French dish that is sure to impress your friends and family. This dish is made with a flavorful steak that is seared and then topped with a rich and creamy sauce.
