Either way, it's easy and the rolls are great. This is an often-requested recipe! Prep time does not include time in the bread machine or making dough by hand.

EASY BREAD MACHINE DINNER ROLLS

These rolls were made using my bread machine, using the dough cycle and then forming the rolls. Very soft tender roll. I'm posting this recipe by request. Very easy, especially when the machine does all the hard work.

Categories     Other Breads

Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 egg, room temperature
3/4 c (plus 1 tablespoon) water, 80 degrees f/27 degrees c
3 Tbsp oil
3 Tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt (i used natural sea salt)
3 1/4 c bread flour (may need to add add'l flour if to sticky)
2 tsp active dry yeast
melted butter, optional and not part of original recipe

Steps:

  • 1. This recipe is for 1.5 lbs and will make 18 rolls. Be sure to set your machine up for 1.5 lbs and set on the dough cycle. I have a Breadman Bread Machine. Check instructions on your machine as different machines may vary.
  • 2. Add ingredients to your bread machine in order listed. Start machine and let it complete the cycle.
  • 3. Once cycle is complete; place dough on a lightly floured service and divide into 18 pieces; shape. NOTE: you may want to put some oil in your hands to keep dough from sticking to hands.
  • 4. Place on a greased baking sheet; cover with plastic and let rise for 30 minutes in a warm place. I spread a little melted butter to tops of rolls. This was not part of the recipe but I like the butter. NOTE: I turn light on in oven and place rolls there to rise. I take out of oven a few minutes before ready to bake so the I can heat oven.
  • 5. Heat oven to 350 degrees; bake 15 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Spred more butter if desired. NOTE: It took about 23 minutes in my oven.

EASY FLAKY PULL-APART DINNER ROLLS

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup warm whole milk
2 1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
2 tablespoon honey
2 eggs
3 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
6 tablespoons butter, room temperature + melted for brushing

Steps:

  • 1. In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the milk, yeast, honey, eggs, flour, and salt. Using the dough hook, mix until the flour is completely incorporated, about 4-5 minutes. Add 2 tablespoons butter and mix until combined, about 2-3 minutes more. 2. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let sit at room temperature for 1 hour or until doubled in size. 3. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter. 4. Punch the dough down and roll out on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle that's about 1/4 inch thick. Spread the remaining 4 tablespoons of softened butter all over dough, being careful not to break through the dough with butter. 5. Fold one half of the rectangle towards the center and fold the other half over the top of the first layer so you have three dough layers. Cut the dough into 12 equal squares. Arrange in the prepared baking dish. Cover the pan, and let the rolls rise for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, until they're puffy. Alternately, you can place the pan in the fridge to rise overnight. 6. reheat the oven to 350. Bake the rolls for 20 to 25 minutes, until they're golden brown on top. 7. Remove them from the oven, and brush with the melted butter. Pull them apart to serve warm.

Tips:

  • Make sure to use warm water (about 110°F) when activating the yeast. This will help the yeast to bloom and become active, which is essential for a good rise.
  • If you don't have a stand mixer, you can make the dough by hand. Just be sure to knead it for at least 10 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
  • Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size. This will give the yeast time to do its work and produce a light and fluffy dough.
  • When shaping the rolls, be sure to pinch the edges together tightly. This will help to prevent them from coming apart during baking.
  • Bake the rolls at a high temperature (425°F) for a short amount of time (about 12-15 minutes). This will give them a crispy crust and a soft and fluffy interior.

Conclusion:

These easy dinner rolls are the perfect addition to any meal. They are soft and fluffy, with a crispy crust and a delicious flavor. Best of all, they are easy to make and can be ready in just a few hours. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy dinner side, give these dinner rolls a try. You won't be disappointed!
