Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Place the crackers side by side in a foil-lined jelly-roll pan (I spray the foil with non-stick spray).
- Combine the butter and brown sugar in saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Cook for 3 minutes.
- Pour the mixture over the crackers.
- Bake 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the baked crackers.
- Let stand 5 minutes then spread the melted chocolate over the top.
- Sprinkle with nuts if desired.
- Chill in the refrigerator until set.
- Invert onto a flat surface; remove the foil and break into pieces.
- Store, covered in an airtight container in refrigerator.
- Note: You can skip the chocolate chips- it's still delicious.

- 1. Line a large cookie sheet with foil, place crackers side by side on top of foil.
- 2. Melt Butter, Margarine and Brown sugar in pot bring to boil for 3 min. Pour this mixture over crackers and spread to cover evenly. Bake this in the oven 400 for 5-7 min.
- 3. as soon as this comes out of the oven pour the bag of morsels over HOT crackers and spread around till melted. Once evenly spread sprinkle pecans on top. Chill in fridge for 1 hour then break into pieces.
Tips:
- Use a heavy-bottomed saucepan to prevent the sugar from burning.
- Stir the sugar mixture constantly to prevent it from crystallizing.
- Add the butter and vanilla extract once the sugar mixture has reached a golden brown color.
- Pour the sugar mixture onto a greased baking sheet and allow it to cool completely before breaking it into pieces.
- Store the cracker candy in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
