Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: Fresh vegetables, lean protein, and flavorful sauces will make a big difference in the taste of your chow mein casserole.
  • Don't overcook the noodles: Chow mein noodles should be cooked al dente, or slightly firm to the bite. Overcooked noodles will become mushy and ruin the texture of the casserole.
  • Use a variety of vegetables: Chow mein is a great way to get your daily dose of vegetables. Add your favorite veggies, such as broccoli, carrots, snap peas, and bell peppers.
  • Choose a flavorful sauce: The sauce is what really brings the chow mein casserole together. Use a store-bought sauce or make your own using soy sauce, oyster sauce, and rice vinegar.
