DUMP PEACH COBBLER

Dump Peach Cobbler image

Enjoy this easy peasy peach cobbler any time of the year. It's one of those cobblers that has the fruit on top when it goes in the oven. Magically, the peaches are under the thick crust when baked. We love the flavor from the cinnamon added to this cobbler. The crust is crunchy and underneath are gooey peaches. A scoop of vanilla...

Provided by Joyce Mason

Categories     Fruit Desserts

Time 1h10m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 c all-purpose flour
1 1/4 c sugar, divided
1 can(s) peaches (15 oz)
3 tsp baking powder
3/4 c milk
2 tsp cinnamon, divided
1 tsp vanilla
1 stick butter

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350. Melt butter in an 8x8 baking dish.
  • 2. Combine flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, milk, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and the vanilla into the mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly.
  • 3. Pour batter over melted butter.
  • 4. Drain the peaches and pour over the batter. Note: Sometimes I leave a little syrup in the peaches to make the cobbler gooier.
  • 5. Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup of sugar over the peaches. Then sprinkle 1 teaspoon of cinnamon over sugar.
  • 6. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until done.
  • 7. Can garnish with whip cream or vanilla ice cream before serving.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe, juicy peaches. This will give your cobbler the best flavor.
  • Use a variety of peaches. This will add depth and complexity to the flavor of your cobbler.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing will make the cobbler tough.
  • Bake the cobbler until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. This will ensure that the cobbler is cooked through.
  • Serve the cobbler warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. This will make a delicious and satisfying dessert.

Conclusion:

Peach cobbler is a classic summer dessert that is easy to make and always a hit with family and friends. With its sweet, juicy peaches and crispy, buttery crust, peach cobbler is the perfect way to end a warm-weather meal. So next time you have a craving for something sweet, give this dump peach cobbler recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
