EASY WEEKNIGHT BEEF STROGANOFF

Easy Weeknight Beef Stroganoff image

This recipe was taken and adapted from The Lady & Sons Savannah Country Cookbook by Paula H. Deen. I like this recipe because it is very simple and requires minimal prep. The outcome is very delicious and my family eats it up (including my VERY picky 3 year old and my 1 year old). I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. I am working on adapting it for the crock pot!

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of beef: For a tender and flavorful stroganoff, select a cut of beef that is well-marbled, such as flank steak, sirloin, or tenderloin. Avoid leaner cuts, as they can become tough when cooked.
  • Slice the beef thinly: This will help it cook quickly and evenly.
  • Use a good quality beef broth: This will add a lot of flavor to the stroganoff. If you don't have beef broth on hand, you can use chicken broth or vegetable broth, but the flavor will not be as rich.
  • Don't overcook the beef: Overcooked beef will become tough and chewy. Cook it just until it is browned and no longer pink in the center.
  • Use fresh mushrooms: Fresh mushrooms will add a lot of flavor and texture to the stroganoff. If you can't find fresh mushrooms, you can use canned mushrooms, but they will not be as flavorful.
  • Use a good quality sour cream: Sour cream is the key ingredient that gives stroganoff its creamy and tangy flavor. Make sure to use a full-fat sour cream for the best results.
  • Serve the stroganoff over egg noodles, mashed potatoes, or rice: This will help to soak up the delicious sauce.

Conclusion:

Beef stroganoff is a classic dish that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. With its tender beef, flavorful sauce, and creamy texture, it's sure to be a hit at your next dinner party or family gathering. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy weeknight meal, give this recipe a try.
