Tips:
- Mise en Place: Before starting, measure and prepare all ingredients. This will make the baking process smoother and more efficient.
- Quality Ingredients: Use high-quality butter, flour, and apples for the best flavor and texture.
- Laminating the Dough: When laminating the dough, work quickly and keep the butter cold. This will prevent the butter from melting into the dough and creating a greasy texture.
- Chilling the Dough: Chilling the dough between folds helps to firm up the butter and make it easier to work with. It also helps to develop the flavor of the dough.
- Rolling the Dough: When rolling the dough, use a light touch and avoid overworking it. This will help to create a flaky, tender pastry.
- Baking the Bars: Bake the bars until they are golden brown and the filling is bubbling. This will ensure that the pastry is cooked through and the filling is set.
