CRUNCHY AND DELICIOUS GRANOLA

After searching for a healthier granola recipe, I tweaked a few to lessen the sugar. I use seeds instead of nuts due to allergies. Still very crunchy, delicious, and satisfying! Change the dried fruit to fit your tastes (blueberries, cherries, cranberries, apricots, etc.).

Tips:

  • Choose your oats wisely. Rolled oats are the most common type of oats used in granola, but you can also use steel-cut oats or quick-cooking oats. Rolled oats will give you a chewier granola, while steel-cut oats will give you a more hearty granola. Quick-cooking oats will give you a lighter granola.
  • Use a variety of nuts and seeds. This will add flavor, texture, and nutrients to your granola. Some popular nuts and seeds to use include almonds, walnuts, pecans, chia seeds, and flax seeds.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different flavors. You can add spices, extracts, or dried fruits to your granola to create a unique flavor. Some popular spices to use include cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Some popular extracts to use include vanilla extract and almond extract. Some popular dried fruits to use include raisins, cranberries, and blueberries.
  • Toast your oats and nuts before baking. This will help to bring out their flavor and make them more crunchy.
  • Bake your granola at a low temperature. This will help to prevent it from burning. You are looking for a beautiful golden brown color so stir the granola every 15 minutes or so.
  • Let your granola cool completely before storing it. This will help to prevent it from becoming soggy.

Conclusion:

Granola is a delicious and healthy snack that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It is a good source of fiber, protein, and healthy fats.
