CROCK POT WHITE TURKEY CHILI
I came up with this recipe while stuck at home during the first ice storm of the year. I suggest garnishing with sharp cheddar and tortilla chips. It is definitely comfort food.

CROCK POT TURKEY CHILI
No pretense to regional authenticity, but it's the way we like it! You can add more "heat" by increasing the pepper flakes. Goes good with Barb's "recipe #150277". Substitute canned black beans for a change of taste, or use 1 can each of kidney and black beans.

Steps:
- Heat 1 tbs. oil in skillet. Saute onions and garlic until soft, and slightly browned. Put into crock pot.
- Heat remaining oil and brown ground turkey (I use ground dark meat, not as dry as breast meat when cooked). Put meat into crock pot.
- Add remaining ingredients to crock pot and stir together.
- Cover and cook on high for 4-6 hours.
- Serve in large bowls, with cornbread on side.
- Optional toppings at table: Diced red or sweet yellow onion. Shredded cheddar or pepper jack cheese. Sour cream.
Tips:
- For a thicker chili, use less broth or add a cornstarch slurry.
- To make the chili spicier, add more chili powder or cayenne pepper.
- For a smoky flavor, add a chipotle pepper or two.
- For a more complex flavor, add a variety of spices, such as cumin, oregano, and paprika.
- Serve the chili with your favorite toppings, such as sour cream, shredded cheese, diced avocado, or chopped cilantro.
Conclusion:
This crock-pot white turkey chili is a delicious and easy way to enjoy a healthy meal. It's perfect for a weeknight dinner or a casual gathering with friends. With its creamy texture, flavorful broth, and tender turkey, this chili is sure to be a hit. So next time you're looking for a warm and comforting meal, give this crock-pot white turkey chili a try.
