CRESCENT CRUST SAUSAGE BRUNCH CASSEROLE

Crescent Crust Sausage Brunch Casserole image

I guarantee you are going to *love* this! This makes a perfect brunch or weeknight dinner, to save time brown the sausage a day ahead. To increase to a 13x9-inch casserole you will need 1-1/2 packages of crescent rolls and all other ingredients will need to be increased slightly, I have even made this without the crescent roll crust!

SAUSAGE CRESCENT BREAKFAST CASSEROLE

Sausage Crescent Breakfast Casserole image

This is a tastey breakfast casserole that can be done in under an hour! You can make it spicy or mild depending on which cheese you decide to use. Or you can mix them and choose the middle ground. For kids, I usually have to choose the mozzarella though. For adults, I sometimes add some green chiles or a seeded jalepeno, chopped very fine. But I really like heat. I also sometimes increase the garlic!

Time 30m

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 1/2 lbs pork sausage, mild or 1 1/2 lbs hot pork sausage, your preference

2 2/3 cups mozzarella cheese or 2 2/3 cups monterey jack cheese, shredded
1 garlic clove, minced
4 large eggs, beaten
3/4 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
cayenne pepper (optional)

Steps:

  • Brown sausage and garlic in a skillet, stirring until it crumbles; drain grease from skillet.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh sausage, eggs, and vegetables will give your casserole the best flavor.
  • Don't overcook the sausage: Overcooked sausage will be dry and tough. Cook it until it is just browned through.
  • Use a variety of vegetables: A variety of vegetables will add color, flavor, and nutrients to your casserole. Some good options include bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and spinach.
  • Use a good quality cheese: A good quality cheese will melt smoothly and give your casserole a rich flavor. Cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese are all good options.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make your casserole tough. Mix it just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the casserole until it is golden brown: A golden brown crust is a sign that your casserole is cooked through. Bake it for about 30 minutes, or until the center is cooked through.

Conclusion:
