TOOTSIE ROLL FUDGE

When my husband came home with 50 pounds of Tootsie Rolls he bought at a discount store, I had to figure out a way to use them-so I came up with this recipe! A red or green M&M's candy atop each piece makes them extra jolly.

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 tsp butter
2 Tbsp butter, divided
2 Tbsp peanut butter
3 3/4 c confectioners' sugar
2 Tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 c ground nuts
m&m candies (red and green for christmas or yellow and orange for halloween)
2 c tootsie roll midgets.

Steps:

  • 1. Line a 9-in. square pan with foil. Grease the foil with 1 teaspoon butter; set aside. In a heavy saucepan, melt the Tootsie Rolls, peanut butter and remaining butter over low heat, stirring constantly. Gradually stir in the confectioners' sugar, milk and vanilla (mixture will be very thick). Fold in pecans. It may be so thick and hard to work with you think you did somehting wrong but don't worry. It is supposed to be that way. I do not use foil when I use aluminun pans.
  • 2. Spread into prepared pan. Using a sharp knife, score the surface into 1-in. squares. Press a M&M's candy into the center of each square. Cool. Using foil, remove fudge from pan; cut into squares. Store in an airtight container. Yield: about 2 pounds.

CREME DROP FUDGE

Creme Drop Fudge image

Do you remember Creme Drops? I was talking with my 90 year old Uncle and he told me that when he was a kid he would go into town and buy a pound for 5 cents and eat them all on the way home. They are kinda hard to find but some stores carry them at Christmas time, I found them at Dollar General. Please try this recipe it is too...

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 pkg creme drops (cone shaped candy with a vanilla creme filling covered in a rich chocolate coating
1 c peanut butter, creamy (or can use chunky)
2 Tbsp butter

Steps:

  • 1. Line a 8 x 8 inch square pan with wax paper or parchment paper. In a microwave safe glass bowl (I use a 4 cup glass measuring cup), mix all ingredients, I like to dice the creme drops into 4 pieces. Microwave on high power for 2 minutes.
  • 2. It will come out soupy just keep stirring very quickly and it will thicken up pretty fast. Make sure that you stir very well making sure that any of the white center that may have clumped a little gets dissolved.
  • 3. Spread into prepared pan and refrigerate for 15 to 20 minutes. Cut into small pieces and store in covered container in the refrigerator.
  • 4. TIPS: If not fully melted microwave a little longer. If you want it more chocolaty add 2 handfuls of chocolate chips. If fudge is too soft reduce butter to 1 Tablespoon.

Tips:

  • To ensure a smooth and creamy fudge, use a heavy-bottomed saucepan and stir the mixture constantly while it is cooking.
  • If you want to add nuts or other mix-ins to the fudge, stir them in after the mixture has thickened slightly, but before it begins to set.
  • To test if the fudge is done, drop a small amount into a glass of cold water. If the fudge forms a soft ball, it is ready.
  • Pour the fudge onto a greased baking dish and let it cool completely before cutting it into pieces.
  • Store the fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

Crème drop fudge is a delicious and easy-to-make candy that is perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a sweet treat that will satisfy your cravings. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy dessert, give crème drop fudge a try.
