CREAMY GUACAMOLE

Creamy Guacamole image

This is a recipe handed to me by my Aunt Shawna. It's smooth, rich, creamy, definately not your average guacamole. Even my picky three-year-old daughter loves this. I usually eyeball ingredients when I make this, so the measurements are guesses. You can adjust to suit your taste! This guacamole is great served with tortilla chips, but I love to spread it on my sandwiches, too!

Time 5m

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

3 ripe avocados (I use Hass)
1 tablespoon sour cream
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1/4 teaspoon adobo seasoning (I use Goya all purpose seasoning)
1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon chili powder
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Peel the avocados and remove the pits, reserving one for garnish, if desired, and place the flesh in a bowl.
  • With a fork, gently mash the avocados, leaving some small chunks.
  • Add remaining ingredients, mix well.
  • Serve in a bowl garnished with reserved pit.

Tips:

  • Use ripe avocados: The riper the avocados, the creamier and richer your guacamole will be.
  • Choose the right type of avocado: Hass avocados are the best choice for guacamole because they have a high oil content and a creamy texture.
  • Don't over-mash the avocados: You want your guacamole to be chunky, not smooth. Just mash the avocados until they are combined but still have some texture.
  • Use fresh lime juice: Fresh lime juice adds a bright, citrusy flavor to guacamole. Don't use bottled lime juice, as it will not have the same flavor.
  • Season your guacamole to taste: Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste. You can also add other spices, such as chili powder, cumin, or smoked paprika, to taste.
  • Serve your guacamole immediately: Guacamole is best when served fresh. If you need to make it ahead of time, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

Conclusion:

Creamy spicy guacamole is a delicious and versatile dip that can be enjoyed with a variety of dishes. It is perfect for parties, potlucks, and picnics. With its creamy texture, spicy flavor, and fresh ingredients, creamy spicy guacamole is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy snack or appetizer, give creamy spicy guacamole a try. You won't be disappointed!
