CREAMY WHITE CLAM SAUCE & ANGEL HAIR PASTA
Steps:
- In large saucepan, sauté onion in butter or margarine until tender but not brown. Add water, milk, wine, reserved liquid from clams, pasta and contents of seasoning packet; bring just to a boil. Reduce heat, cook uncovered over medium-low heat 3 minutes, stirring frequently. Add drained clams, heat through. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Sauce will thicken as it stands. Transfer to serving dish and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
Tips:
- Use fresh clams: Fresh clams have a sweeter, more delicate flavor than frozen clams. If you can't find fresh clams, frozen clams will work in a pinch.
- Soak the clams before cooking: Soaking the clams in cold water for 30 minutes will help to remove any sand or grit.
- Don't overcook the clams: Clams only take a few minutes to cook. Overcooking will make them tough and chewy.
- Use a good quality white wine: The white wine you use in the sauce will add flavor, so choose a wine that you enjoy drinking.
- Add some vegetables to the sauce: Vegetables like shallots, garlic, and mushrooms add flavor and texture to the sauce.
- Serve the pasta sauce with a crusty bread: A crusty bread is the perfect way to soak up the delicious sauce.
Conclusion:
Creamy clam pasta sauce is a delicious and easy-to-make sauce that is perfect for a weeknight meal. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a sauce that is packed with flavor. Serve the sauce over your favorite pasta and enjoy!
