CREAM CHEESE CUT-OUT COOKIES

Cream Cheese Cut-Out Cookies image

I love this recipe because it is so easy to roll out, and the taste is great. This is our favorite Christmas cookie recipe to make, but I also make them for Easter and Halloween. Sometimes I ice them or just sprinkle with colored sugar while they bake. I always double this recipe for us.

Number Of Ingredients 6

8 oz cream cheese
4 sticks unsalted butter (softened)
2 C sugar (granulated)
1 tsp vanilla
2 egg yolks
5 C flour

Steps:

  • Cream together the cream cheese, butter and sugar. Add vanilla and egg yolks and mix well on medium speed. Gradually add flour. Chill. Roll out in POWDERED sugar Bake 10 min at 375

Tips:

  • Chilling the dough: Before rolling out and cutting the cookies, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes. This will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much in the oven.
  • Using a sharp cookie cutter: A sharp cookie cutter will help you get clean, precise cuts. If your cookie cutter is dull, it will drag the dough and make the cookies look ragged.
  • Baking the cookies at the right temperature: The cookies should be baked at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes, or until they are just set. If you bake them for too long, they will become dry and crumbly.
  • Decorating the cookies: Once the cookies have cooled, you can decorate them with frosting, sprinkles, or other toppings. Be creative and have fun!

Conclusion:

Cream cheese cut-out cookies are a delicious and festive treat that are perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and can be decorated in a variety of ways. With a little planning and effort, you can create beautiful and delicious cookies that will impress your friends and family.
