Categories     Seafood Appetizers

Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 pkg imitation crabmeat
3/4 c mayonaise
3/4 c sour cream
1/4 c dehydrated onions
1 Tbsp cocktail sauce

Steps:

  • 1. Cut up and flake the crabmeat.
  • 2. In a bowl, mix the mayonaise, sour cream and onions together.
  • 3. Add the crabmeat and the cocktail sauce. Mix together well.
  • 4. Refrigerate about 1 hour before serving with crackers.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh crabmeat: Using fresh crabmeat will give your dip the best flavor. If you can't find fresh crabmeat, frozen crabmeat will also work, but make sure to thaw it completely before using.
  • Use a variety of cheeses: The combination of cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise gives this dip a rich and creamy texture. You can also add other cheeses, such as cheddar, Parmesan, or Gruyère, to give the dip more flavor.
  • Add some spice: If you like spicy food, you can add some cayenne pepper, chili powder, or Old Bay seasoning to the dip. You can also add some fresh herbs, such as dill or chives, for a more subtle flavor.
  • Serve with your favorite dippers: This dip is perfect for serving with crackers, chips, or vegetables. You can also use it as a spread for sandwiches or wraps.

Conclusion:

Crabmeat dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is made with fresh crabmeat, a variety of cheeses, and mayonnaise, and is seasoned with spices and herbs. This dip can be served with crackers, chips, or vegetables, and is also a great spread for sandwiches or wraps.
