Time 4h20m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
1/4 c. cocktail sauce
1 (8 oz.) package imitation crabmeat, finely chopped (about 1 1/2 to 2 c. chopped)
1/2 c. shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1/3 c. chopped green onion
4 (8-inch or 10-inch) flour tortillas
1/8 tsp. salt
pinch black pepper

Steps:

  • Place softened cream cheese in a mixing bowl; stir with a fork. Add cocktail sauce, salt, and pepper; mix with a fork until well blended.
  • Stir in Montery Jack cheese, crabmeat, and green onion.
  • Spread 1/4 of the mixture (about 1/2 cup) onto each tortilla, making an even layer that covers the tortilla completely.
  • Roll up each tortilla tightly. Wrap each tortilla roll in plastic wrap and refrigerator for several hours or overnight.
  • At serving time, cut each tortilla roll into 10-12 slices.
  • I find using a sawing motion with a serrated knife makes the nicest, cleanest cuts.
  • You can also use the filling as a spread on crackers instead of making tortilla roll-ups, if you'd like.

CRAB ROLLUPS

Crab Rollups image

:) Unfortunately, no great story behind this one. Most of the time I throw stuff together because I can be a bit lazy when it means going to the grocer. Fresh crab is better, but this is what I had to work with.

Provided by Marie Roberts

Categories     Other Appetizers

Time 1h

Number Of Ingredients 12

1/2 pkg imitation crabmeat
3 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes, to taste
1/4 tsp garlic powder or you can use fresh garlic chopped very fine
1/4 c mayonnaise, may need to use more, but optional
1/2 c green olives, chopped
1/2 c black olives, chopped
1 Tbsp shay's pickle relish
3 green onions, chopped fine or use regular onions
1 small tomato, chopped
1 pkg cream cheese
salt & pepper to taste
1 pkg spinach tortillas

Steps:

  • 1. Combine first 8 ingredients and set aside. Spread cream cheese on tortilla then spoon crab mixture in center and roll up, making sure you keep it tight as possible without tearing. Slice off both ends of the tortilla, and then cut in 1-1/2 inch sections and place on a plate to serve.
  • 2. Just a note: You cannot buy "Shay's Pickle Relish". My niece cans her own and I raid her pantry when I am out. Any sweet relish or dill would work fine.

2 teaspoons light soy sauce
1 pinch kosher salt, plus more for sprinkling
8 oz fresh lump crab meat, shredded
⅓ cup scallions, thinly sliced

Tips:

  • Use fresh crab meat: Fresh crab meat will give your roll-ups the best flavor. If you can't find fresh crab meat, you can use frozen crab meat that has been thawed in the refrigerator overnight.
  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened: This will make it easier to mix with the other ingredients.
  • Use a variety of fillings: You can use any type of fillings you like in your crab roll-ups. Some popular options include cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, diced bell peppers, and chopped green onions.
  • Be careful not to overfill the crab roll-ups: If you overfill them, they will be difficult to roll up and they may fall apart.
  • Bake the crab roll-ups until they are golden brown: This will ensure that they are cooked through and that the cheese is melted.

Conclusion:

Crab roll-ups are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or main course. They are perfect for parties or potlucks, and they can also be made ahead of time and frozen. With a variety of fillings to choose from, crab roll-ups are sure to please everyone at your table.
