SPECIAL COUNTRY BREADED CHICKEN SANDWICH

Special Country Breaded Chicken Sandwich image

This is a recipe from my own kitchen. I needed to use up some of the things I had in my pantry and spice cabinet so I decided to make a breading for chicken breast fillets. You can also serve these chicken fillets with cooked veggies or some kind of salad instead of sandwich. My husband was so surpised when he took a bite my special breaded chicken. He loved it! He mention that this would also be good with a white chicken gravy.

ITALIAN COUNTRY SANDWICH

Italian Country Sandwich image

This recipe is from Kathleen Cannata Hanna's cookbook, "The Good-to-Go Cookbook: Take-Along Food, Quick Suppers, and Satisfying Snacks for On-the-Go Families". The author's goal is to help parents walk the very fine line of nutritiom, economy and readily available ingredients when trying to feed the family. This recipe, published in the Chicago Tribune, is her family's favorite and is very flexible: you can wrap it in foil and put it in the oven, you can cook it on the stove, bring it camping, cook it on the grill, make it in the microwave.

Tips and Conclusion

Crafting a delectable Country Sandwich calls for careful attention to detail and a blend of fresh, high-quality ingredients. Here are some essential tips to ensure sandwich success:

1. Selecting the Bread: - Opt for a sturdy bread that can withstand the sandwich's fillings without becoming soggy. Choices like ciabatta, sourdough, or a hearty whole-grain bread are excellent options. 2. Preparing the Meat: - If using deli meat, select thick slices for a substantial bite. - For homemade chicken or turkey, roast or grill it beforehand for maximum flavor. - If bacon is part of the recipe, cook it until crispy, but not burnt. 3. Choosing the Cheese: - Select flavorful cheeses that complement the other ingredients. Cheddar, Swiss, Gouda, or Havarti are popular choices. - For extra richness, consider using a combination of cheeses with varying textures and flavors. 4. Adding Fresh Produce: - Incorporate crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and sliced cucumbers for a refreshing crunch and vibrant color. - Experiment with other favorites like avocado, sprouts, or thinly sliced apples for a unique twist. 5. Spreading the Condiments: - Use a light hand with condiments to avoid overpowering the other flavors. - Mustard, mayonnaise, and sliced pickles are classic choices, but feel free to experiment with your preferred condiments. 6. Assembling the Sandwich: - Build the sandwich in layers, starting with the bread, followed by the fillings and condiments. - Create a balanced sandwich with an even distribution of ingredients for every bite. - Press the sandwich gently to ensure it holds together well. 7. Serving and Enjoying: - Serve the sandwich immediately for optimal freshness. - Accompany it with sides like potato chips, coleslaw, or a fresh side salad for a complete meal. Conclusion: Creating a mouthwatering Country Sandwich is an art that combines the right ingredients, careful preparation, and a love for good food. By following these tips, you can elevate your sandwich-making skills and impress your taste buds with every bite. So, gather your ingredients, let your creativity shine, and indulge in the deliciousness of a perfectly crafted Country Sandwich. Enjoy!
