Time 15m

Yield 2 cups

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 lb margarine
1 lb cream cheese
2 lbs powdered sugar
2 teaspoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Allow margarine and cream cheese to reach room temperature.
  • Beat cream cheese and margarine together in a bowl with a mixer.
  • Slowly add in all powdered sugar.
  • Once all of the sugar is in the bowl mix for at least an additional 12 minutes.
  • When almost done, add in the extracts.
  • Enjoy!

Tips:

  • Make sure your cream cheese and butter are softened to room temperature before you start. This will make it easier to mix them together and will help to create a smooth frosting.
  • If you don't have a mixer, you can make the frosting by hand. Just be sure to beat the cream cheese and butter together until they are light and fluffy.
  • Add the powdered sugar gradually, one cup at a time. This will help to prevent the frosting from becoming too thick or too thin.
  • If you want a thinner frosting, add a little bit of milk or cream. If you want a thicker frosting, add a little bit more powdered sugar.
  • Once the frosting is the desired consistency, stir in the vanilla extract and cinnamon. You can also add other flavorings, such as nutmeg or maple extract, if you like.
  • The frosting can be used immediately or stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
