This is from one of my vintage cookbooks. Sounds wonderful! Chill time is not included in total prep time.

1/2 lb marshmallows
1 cup hot coffee
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Put marshmallows in double boiler.
  • Add coffee and salt-stirring,heat until smooth.
  • Chill until it begins to set.
  • Fold in stiffly whipped cream.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Chill until mixture will mound.
  • Serve in sherbert glasses.

1/2 lb marshmallows
1 c hot coffee, strong
1/8 tsp salt
1 c heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
